Writing: Creative and Research

There are many opportunities for writing throughout this curriculum. This material also includes projects for creative writing, essays, an outline, and research. You may choose from the lists provided below, from the project section in each Unit (pages 46, 74, and 89), or create your own projects tailored to the individual needs of each child.

More Creative Writing and Research Idea’s

  • Creative: Write a play, with separate speaking parts, narration, etc.
  • Creative: Compose a song and write the words.
  • Creative: Write a fictional book with a Christian message.
  • Creative: Write directions for how-to: make a sandwich, start a business, care for a pet, make pizza, and many more.
  • Creative: Write letters to your relatives.
  • Creative: Write a description about watching a soccer game, but don’t use the words ball, run, goal, referee, and foul.
  • Creative: Take a walk on a rainy or foggy day. Feel, taste, and smell the air. Write some words that describe these sensations. Put these together in a poem, song, or short story.
  • Research: Find something of special interest to your family. Then research and read all that you can find on the subject.
