Creation

Bible Lesson #1 –Teacher's Questions and Answers

  1. Name some of God’s attributes or characteristics. How many can you find? Creator, Omnipresent, Prefect, Omnipotent (Sovereign), Preserver   (Savior), Omniscient, Loving, Holy and Righteous One, Immutable, Just and the list goes on.

  2. What are your basic worldviews? God is the one true triune God. God is the Creator and Maker of everything that exists. God is a thinking and speaking Person, Who acts with a plan and a purpose.

  3. What did God create the first day?

The 1st day Light and darkness

The 2nd day – Expanse between the waters

The 3rd day – Dry land, seas, and vegetation

The 4th day – Stars, the 2 great lights (sun and moon), separated day from night and let them be for the signs and seasons (days and years)

The 5th day – Sea, water animals, and birds

The 6th day – Land animals and man

  4. What did God give man to distinguish him from the animals? He created man in his own image and breathed the “breath of life” into him. The “breath of life” would be our eternal spirit.

  5. What is the significance of this? Originally, we were to live, worship, and commune with our God for eternity.

  6. What is Gods conclusion of each of his creations? “God saw that it was good.” (Mark each conclusion:  how many times does God repeat this?) Six times God surveyed creation in all of its completeness and said that is was good.

  7. Did God bless the animals (v. 22)? Explain. Yes, he told them to be fruitful and multiply, to fill the earth.

  8. Did God bless man (v.28)? Explain. Yes, God told man to be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth, subdue it, and rule over it and everything that moves on the earth.

  9. In verse 21 (NASB), God created the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves… (reference found in Psalm 104:25-26). What do you think the   leviathan is? I believe that both man and dinosaur existed together and that the leviathan was some type of dinosaur that lived in the sea.

  10. How does this contrast with the worlds view? As Christians, we maintain that the Bible is God’s Holy Word. Nevertheless, the world does not perceive the truth, so they believe that the Bible is fallible. The theory of evolution is a fantasy born out of the minds of man, in order to do away with God. Evolution explains that dinosaurs were extinct millions of years before man evolved.

  11. Creation can be found in myths from other cultures, research and find a few examples. Are there any similarities between these myths and the real Creation? An example of a myth of creation:  The people of Greece believed that out of chaos came Mother Earth. She gave birth to Father Sky (Uranus), and then he falls in love with her. He decides to shower her with rain and sunshine, and she then gives birth to all the animals, birds, plants. Uranus fills the rivers and seas with life. He doesn’t love all the sons of Mother Earth and he sends some to the underworld. Mother Earth dislikes this, so she asks 7 of her sons to push Uranus away. The youngest son makes a flint sickle from a high peak. He wounds Uranus enough that he retreats to the outermost parts of the universe and so the earth and sky were separated.
